Departmental Scholarship Opportunities

The Computer Science Department awards around a dozen departmental scholarships every academic year. These scholarships are only available to those majoring in the Computer Science Department (including Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Science, and Computer Science – Secondary Education) and those in the Computer Science Master’s program. Students must also meet other criteria set by the donors of the scholarship awards to be eligible. Applicants must also have a recent FAFSA completed to be considered for any scholarship award that requires financial need.

Declared majors in the Computer Science Department are encouraged to apply for a departmental Scholarship Award. The application is comprised of demographic information, and some short essay questions to share your extracurricular involvement in the department. The department generally receives over 100 applications and center equity in the awarding process. Not all applicants will be awarded a scholarship. The scholarship committee reviews all applications for eligibility, academic performance, financial need or hardship, department involvement, and the impact an award may have on the student’s academic journey.

Applications are accepted once a year starting in late winter quarter and due early spring quarter.
