Computer Science at Western offers a collaborative, inclusive, and immersive learning experience to prepare students to excel and innovate in exciting and fast-changing technology careers. Major level courses are small, are taught by full-time faculty, and allow for term-length group projects. Student opportunities include faculty-mentored research in areas such as Virtual Reality, Cybersecurity, Machine Learning, Data Science, and Human Computer Interaction. Networking with regional companies, lecture series, and a dozen student-run clubs, further enrich the student experience.

Finalists for NCWIT Collegiate Award

First year CS/M Scholar Abigayle Peterson and senior Erin Howard have been selected as finalists for the NCWIT Collegiate Award which honors the outstanding computing accomplishments of undergraduate and graduate students who self-identify as women, genderqueer, or non-binary.

WWU Cyber Defense Team Wins!

Congratulations to the WWU Cyber Defense Team on taking second place at the 2021 Pacific Rim Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition. The team members include: Parker Lamb, Matt Jackson, Brennan Vanden Bos, Noah Reneau, Douglas Slater, Ben Paros, Josh Helm, and Sid Lacy.
