WWU Competitive Programming Team Info Session

Date

Description

Come hear about how to participate in WWU’s new Competitive Programming Team, which will compete in the International Collegiate Programming Competition (ICPC) regional on Saturday, March 5th! There are two divisions, so this competition provides an appropriate challenge for any student who has taken CSCI 141 or beyond.

In competitive programming, teams are given algorithmic problems for which to code correct solutions. Points are given for correctness and time to solve the problem. In the end, the team with the most points wins and advances to the next stage. ICPC is open only to undergraduate students, but graduate students are welcome to participate in practices or help coach. The team is coached by Dr. See-Mong Tan and organized by the WWU Student Chapter of the ACM.
