Are you interested in pursuing a degree in Computer Science? Here are some things you should know!

- If you're thinking about pursuing a transfer degree (AS-T or a DTA), get in touch with an advisor as soon as possible! We are here to help you navigate our programs and meet your goals.
- Students can only transfer a maximum of 135 credits to count toward a degree at Western.
- Declare a CS Pre-Major when you get to Western if you have completed, transferred, or enrolled in CSCI 145.
- Take the Pre-Major Courses (CSCI 241, 247, and 301) one at a time to strive for the best understanding of the foundations.
We encourage students to take equivalent courses to some of our intro computer science classes if they are able.
- CSCI 141 - Computer Programming I
- CSCI 145 - Computer Programming & Linear Data Structures
- CSCI 241 - Data Structures

We encourage students to complete one or both of these equivalent courses.
- MATH 124 - Calculus I
- MATH 125 - Calculus II

Computer Science - Secondary Education, BAE
Are you interested in pursuing a degree to teach Computer Science? Here are some things you should know and classes you can transfer!

- Get in touch with an advisor as soon as possible! We are here to help you navigate this program and meet your goals.
- Declare a CS Secondary Ed Pre-Major when you get to Western if you have completed, transferred, or enrolled in CSCI 141.
- Try to get 10-20 hours of experience working with K-12 youth.
- This can be through volunteer work, after-school programs, work opportunities, etc.
- Students apply for this degree through Woodring College of Education, the Computer Science - Secondary Ed pre-major advisor can help you navigate that process.
