Stay on Track!

  • Declare the CS Pre-major once you are in CSCI 145
  • Declare the CS Major once you are enrolled in the last of CSCI 241, 247 or 301 by the posted deadline
  • Attend the New Major Orientation
    • Meet with your faculty advisor at least 1-2 times per year
    • Make initial contact to get acquainted (early October), plan winter schedule
    • March/April: Check in and prepare for fall term registration in May.
    • Talk to instructor and/or advisor about dropping a class BEFORE dropping it. Be aware of Late Withdrawal Privileges.
    • Read email (Bullseye) messages from the department. We send only important messages.
    • Pay attention to Important Dates & Deadlines
    • See your advisor if you are in academic trouble.  
    • See your advisor before Registration. Print out a copy of your Degree Evaluation from Web4U and discuss what it means. Look carefully at what requirements you have and have not met for your degree.
    • Seek necessary overrides before web registration begins.
    • Once in the major, determine the timing for beginning CSCI 491 series. You need to take CSCI 491, 492 and 493/495 your last three quarters.
  • Get a Major Evaluation done two quarters before graduation.
  • Fill out Degree Application
