Ezra completed his PhD in Biostatistics at UCLA in 2021, with a dissertation on Statistical Challenges in HIV Incidence Estimation using Cross-Sectional Biomarker Surveys (advisor: Ron Brookmeyer); he also holds an MS in Statistics and a BS in Symbolic Systems from Stanford University.

Ezra’s current work focuses on developing methodologies and software for public health research. He co-leads the UC Davis Seroepidemiology Research Group, which develops cutting-edge computational methods and software for measuring the spread of infectious diseases by monitoring blood serum biomarkers in population-wide surveys.

Ezra is also engaged in collaborative research projects studying Fragile X-associated tremor/ataxia syndrome (FXTAS), health care quality improvement, treatment strategies for pediatric knee injuries, breast cancer screening effectiveness, and antimicrobial resistance in commercial cattle herds.
